3 Common Tools You’ll Encounter in any Family Chiropractic Office

When asked about chiropractic care, many people assume that all chiropractic adjustments are made with a fast twist and a cracking noise. However, there are actually many different tools used by chiropractors - especially chiropractors who work with children!

The tools that family chiropractors use in their offices are specifically designed to make chiropractic adjustments gentle and precise.

Tools and Equipment Used in Chiropractic Care

Chiropractors use a variety of tools and devices to promote the body’s natural systems in self-healing.

Three of our favorite chiropractic tools that we use in our chiropractic office:

  • Insight CLA Scanner
  • Integrator
  • Toggle Head Piece

Insight CLA Scanner

You can’t see your brain or your nerves on an x-ray. And there aren’t really labs that directly tell you how your nervous system is functioning on a daily basis. So, how do you check if your nervous system is healthy or not?

One of the best ways to assess the nervous system for stress is with the Insight CLA Scanner. It allows us to get a baseline of how your body is reacting, processing and adapting to the stress of your daily life. With this technology, we are able to look DEEPER into your health and gain a more thorough understanding of what’s happening on the inside.

This allows us to help you reach your health goals and optimize your body’s health, healing, and performance, naturally from the inside out.

The INSIGHT scan is comprised of 3 different examinations:

  • HRV – measures something called “Vagal Tone”. This lets us know how your body is dealing with stress, how it’s adapting and your recovery from stressful situations.
  • sEMG - This lets us know how much energy your body is using, wasting, or missing when it comes to controlling the movements of your spine and nervous system.
  • Thermography - This lets us know how stress and the inability to adapt are affecting the organs, glands, and hormones that keep you alive, healthy, and balanced on a day-to-day basis.

These 3 exams help to create a weighted result based on a scale of 0-100. The higher the value, the better the function, the more adaptable your body will be to stress, and the more ease and balance you will experience. As simple as that.

This little spring-loaded hand-held adjusting instrument may look like a mini pogo stick but it allows us to administer targeted adjustments to the vertebra without affecting the muscle or surrounding tissue. It provides the same amount of force as hands without needing to twist and turn your body. It takes the pressure off the nervous system, eliminates pain, and promotes greater mobility and healing within the body.

The Integrator is popular for its reliability and results. The initial pressure is followed by a quick thrust from the device, which feels much like having a reflex tested on your knee. It is a tool that can safely be used on people of all ages.

Toggle Head Piece

This tool is used to create a gentle adjustment for the upper neck region. We have toggle head pieces in different sizes to safely adjust infants to adults without any heavy twisting, pulling or cracking.  It allows a precise and low-force adjustment to the base of your child’s head where your child’s vagus nerve stems from. It is the cornerstone of their nervous system.

The toggle headpiece is especially helpful because it can be used while you are holding your little one, utilizing gravity and/ or specific tension determined by the knob.

Our Goal

Our goal is to help you restore optimal functioning to enjoy life to the fullest. We work to create an optimal environment for your healing and health journey. To meet this goal, we use a variety of tools and techniques. We understand that the health of you and your family is of utmost importance and these tools help us to do all of that.
